The Text Message Proposal
July 16, 2007
I was staying over at my friend’s house the night he proposed. He was working the graveyard shift at his work, so we were texting each other back and forth. He eventually texted me saying that he wanted to ask me something really important, but he didn’t know how to say it. I looked at my friend and I somehow knew what was coming up next. I told him to text what he wanted to say, then he asked what my middle name was because I hadn’t told him yet, and then I knew what he was going to ask. He texted me: ‘Will you, (my full name), marry me? And be my wife for the rest of our lives?”. At that point, I started hyperventilating. We had only been together for 3 days when he asked me. I told him yes! We got married 4 months later and we’ve been together for a year and a half now!
