I don’t think I’ve ever talked to a bride-to-be who hasn’t said “I need to lose (insert number here) pounds before the wedding!” We all go through it, you’re not alone. You want to look fabulous on your wedding day, most of all so you can look back at your photos and say “Look how skinny I was!” You want to be the beautiful bride that everyone gawks at. And most of all, you want to fit into the wedding gown of your dreams!
Whether it’s five or fifty pounds that you need/want to lose, dieting just isn’t fun. But it can be easy. I’ll tell you how. Never say diet. Never. Call it a lifestyle habit of eating. Believe me, I’ve tried them all, from Atkins and The Zone, to Weight Watchers and my favorite to date - Nutrisystem. But, I’ve stayed away from the Cookie Diet, the Hollywood diet, and any diet that won’t allow you to eat solid foods.
Now, nutritionists will tell you - don’t follow a fad diet. Eat “regular” healthy food and exercise. They have a point. But sometimes you need a jump start, or something to help you lose a little and keep you motivated to lose more.
My “fad” diet of choice, as I said, is Nutrisystem. How much easier can it get? They send you pre-packaged food that you can cook in 5 minutes or less. They’re all portioned correctly AND you get to eat real food too! Salad, vegetables, fruit, GOOD carbs (like brown rice, yams, and low-card breads and bagels), and more. No “what am I making for dinner tonight?” I know that’s my favorite benefit, aside from weight loss! And the best part - the food actually tastes really good and there’s a great variety - chocolate cake, pizza, lasagna, tacos, muffins, and lots more yummy food!
When you figure you’re spending less at the grocery store, it’s really not that expensive either! And the best part - as long as you follow the diet and exercise (which can be fun too!) you WILL lose weight!
But I digress.
Losing weight should be the easy part of the pre-wedding process! It can be, with a little help. And just a sidenote: I do NOT endorse any kind of diet pills!! Bad…BAD! Again, I digress.
Check out Nutrisystem by clicking the link below - and start losing weight today! When you try on the wedding gown of your dreams, and it fits, you’ll thank me.
Eat FREE for a week and lose weight at NutriSystem with your 28-Day purchase.

Perhaps the most fun you will have before the wedding will be your Bachelorette Party, should you choose to have one.
Typically, your maid of honor will plan the party for you - invitations, where to have it, what to do, etc. If you - and your maid of honor - are stumped as to ideas for the party or fun things to buy, look no further!
At Bachelorette.com, you will find everything from party theme ideas, invitations, games, toys, and more! Wondering where to find a Penis Pop? They have it. What about a Penis Jello Mold? They have it. Are you sensing a theme here?
The Bachelorette Party is supposed to be your last hoorah; your time to hang out with your best girls and let loose. But going to a Chippendale’s-type club may not be so easy to do (depending if there is one near you) or it may not be your cup of tea. Are you adventurous? Do you want a quiet party at home? You’ll find everything you need here. And yes, Bachelorette.com does in fact offer games and more that do not involve male parts. (But what’s the fun in that, I say!)
Some of you may opt to do a Jack and Jill party. This is where you and your fiance have one party together instead of having separate Bachelor/Bachelorette parties. But you can still have toys and games! And wouldn’t it be precious to see your husband-to-be slurping down some penis pasta??? Have your camera ready!
My advice: definitely check the site out. Hint to your party planner that this is a good place to start. They even have a “free stuff” section!
Just remember, go all out at your Bachelorette Party - you deserve it. But if you have it the night before the wedding, be warned. You don’t want to be a hungover bride. So watch those Penis Jello Shots.

You’ve picked the date. You’ve bought a dress. Your bridesmaids are ready for their fittings. As you circle your calendar in preparation for the big day, things are starting to come together slowly but surely. Now your friends and family are asking you if you’re going to change your name.
Maybe you ponder it for a while. If this is your first marriage, you’ve had your maiden name your whole life. Taking his last name means filling out forms, getting a new driver’s license, changing your passport, credit cards, bank account info… etc, etc.
Yes, changing your name is a big hassle. You’ve got a million things to worry about and now this? It used to be a simple process really, but now after 9/11 it’s become a bit more difficult to just change your name (even for newlyweds!). With identity theft more prevalent than ever, it’s important when changing your name that you do it right and a little help never hurts.
Planning your big day and your future together is tough enough as it is, and in this day and age, it’s always worth a couple extra bucks when you discover someone has already done some of the boring and time-consuming legwork for you.
This time, I’ve touched a little bit on the other things you’ll need to do. (credit cards, bank accounts, drivers license, etc.) The good news is that, though tedious, it’s a task that countless other new brides have gone through and with a couple of pointers, you’ll whiz through the process in no time. Next time we’ll talk about some of the other things you may need to do after you’ve changed your name.

Chapter Two: The Proposal
We’re dreamers, romantics, and Cinderella wanna-bes. We’re girls. We have these elaborate visions of grandeur of how it will be when our Prince Charming asks us to marry him. He’ll come riding in on a sleek, black stallion through a dusky forest, wearing nothing but…okay, okay. I know this isn’t completely realistic, but hey, it’s fun to fantasize.
Ideally, he’ll pick a romantic venue–on the beach at sunset, at a romantic restaurant, or where you first met. My friend wasn’t so lucky. Her man asked her to marry him at three in the morning at a Chevron station. I don’t even think he used premium gas. But, they love each other and I suppose his spontaneity was romantic enough for her. Basically, we really don’t care where you do it guys, it’s just that you DO it.
On the following pages are some fun suggestions on how and how not to propose, that you can photocopy and leave as a hint under his pillow. (courtesy of www.weddingexpress.com):
Things you SHOULD consider doing:
o Leave her notes and send her on a scavenger hunt to find the ring
o Hide it in her dog’s collar, and then tell her to check its neck because you were just
bitten by a flea (Hey, it’s cute!)
o Drop it in a glass of champagne when making a toast
o Volunteer to help her fold her laundry and miraculously find your missing sock. But
there’s something inside…(At least it’s clean!)
o Slip it on her finger when you are holding hands
o Have a contest and see who can find the most change inside the sofa. Give her the
cushion with the “dough”
o Stay up late at night watching the stars. Ask her if she sees that diamond in the sky,
and if she doesn’t, say, “Oh, wait, I have it right here!”
Things you SHOULD NOT consider doing:
o Bury it in a mound of mashed potatoes
o Tell her to look in the dog food and say, “It now comes in ‘carat’ flavor!”
o Use a slingshot to surprise her from across the room
o Tell her to put a glove on so you can show her your pitching skills
o Pop the question after her day consisting of frizzy hair, a run in her pantyhose, and a
broken heel
o Suggest metal detecting at the beach
o Tie it to a rock and say, “Wow, look at that rock!”

I am thrilled to announce that the editors at Wedding Dresses Magazine featured my book in their annual Engagement 101 Special Issue magazine! It is on page 20 in the Engagement 101 News section. This is a great magazine by the way - lots of good information for the newly engaged and advice and ideas on ring shopping, planning your engagement party and more!
Now my only hope is that Oprah reads this magazine and realizes that she just has to have me on her show!

Think again.
I did it. Thousands do it each year. I just got back from a well-deserved weekend in Vegas and we saw brides everywhere. Getting married in Vegas doesn’t mean a quickie drive-thru wedding at your chapel of choice (a la Britney “train wreck” Spears). Hotels have beautiful, spacious ballrooms, outdoor landscapes and more to provide a beautiful, unforgettable wedding. They even have party planners who will do all the legwork for you. Food, flowers, tuxedos, doves…whatever you want, they’ll take care of it for you.
In the end, it may be less expensive, less work for you, and you’ll have a fabulous fun wedding nobody will ever forget! Plus, the attention brides get walking through the casino with their dresses on…priceless.

Many people have asked me: “If I was married before, should I do the ‘big’ wedding again?”
I, too, was married once before and the same question came up. Did I want the “big” wedding again? Not really, and neither did my current husband (it was his first marriage) so that made the decision a lot easier.
So my answer is also easy: If you want the big wedding, have it. If you don’t, don’t! Really, it depends on what you and your fiance want. If you both decide you don’t want the big wedding, you can still have a beautiful wedding - just invite your best friends and closest family members (we only had 12 people at my second wedding). You can still have a nice ceremony and reception, just toned down a bit.
There really is no correct answer in this, but my advice is do what you want! It’s your day, and no matter what, it will be wonderful. Plus, the extra money you’ll save can be used for your Honeymoon or a downpayment on a house!

If you don’t have one already, you need to get cracking! I’m talking about an engagement website that can turn into a wedding/honeymoon site. You can have so much fun with this - photos, links to where you’re registered, information about the upcoming wedding, a blog for both of you to write about everything involved with your engagement. The possibilities are endless!! Email the link out to everyone you know!
I’ll even help you out - use GoDaddy.com to register your domain name - i.e. ronandjennygetmarried.com - and to host it! It’s VERY inexpensive plus if you click here you can get a discount coupon to make it even cheaper!
If you do create a website, please let me know! I’d love to see it, plus I may be able to post it here to show everyone else how creative and fun an engagement/wedding website can be!
